224、propose， suggest

一、propose 动词。意思是“建议、提议”。跟不定式、动名词、名词或代词、从句。从句中多用should + 动词或省略should，只用动词原形。有时和for连用表示“提议让......作（参加）”。例如：

After I had finished eating, he proposed to set off immediately. 我吃完饭后，他建议立即启程。

I propose resting for half an hour. 我建议休息半小时。

The chairman proposed that they should stop the meeting.主席提议他们闭会。

What do you propose? 你的建议是什么？

I propose Mr. Smith for chairman. 我提议史密斯先生担任主席。

二、suggest 及物动词。意思是“建议、提议”。跟名词、动名词、从句。从句中多用should + 动词或省略should，只用动词原形。不能跟不定式。例如：

Tom suggested the plan. 汤姆提出这个计划。

I suggest doing it a different way. 我提议用另一种方法来做。

The assistant suggested that she should come another day. 售货员建议她改天再来。

I suggest that she leave early for the airport.我建议她早点动身去机场。
