英语争论词义辨析argue, dispute和debate

argue：指提出理由和证据支持或反对某一主张、信仰、见解等，甚至争论得面红耳赤。

It seemed churlish to argue.

要是争论的话会显得有点小气。

dispute：指双方意见冲突。The dispute went to a conciliation board.

争端提交到了调解委员会。

debate：指正式辩论，题目大多是公众关心的问题。也指双方在裁判的仲裁下进行的辩论。
